The 2026 Gruber Foundation Fellowship in Astrophysics

Thank you for you interest in the Gruber Foundation Fellowship Programme.

Fellowship overview: The Fellowship will be awarded to highly promising early-career astronomers working in any field of
astrophysics, including theoretical, observational, or experimental research. The Gruber Foundation Fellowship provides funding of US$ 75,000 per year, typically divided among three recipients as a research grant to cover travel and research
expenses in support of a postdoctoral appointment at a host institution. The postdoctoral appointment must
begin no later than 1 October 2026. The fellowship may be combined with other awards.

References: Two letters of reference from people who have worked or collaborated with the applicant at some stage in their career must be uploaded directly by the referees themselves. In the application form, applicants will be able to send prompts to their referees, who will automatically receive a link via email to upload their reference letters within the application system. Once the two letters have been submitted via the system, they will automatically be linked to the applicant's application.

Deadline: Applications (including two references letters) must be completed in the application system by 11:59 pm UTC+1 (Paris time) on 1 March 2026. Late applications cannot be considered. Please consult the FAQ and contact iauinfos@iap.fr should you have any outstanding questions.

Applicants will be notified by the IAU about the outcome of the selection by 31 May 2026. The name(s) of the selected 2026 Gruber Foundation Fellows will be announced on the IAU website.

🍀Good luck!
